Your personalized bodywork session could include...
Myofascial/ Structural Release:
Taking things to a new level, structural massage focus on the fascia** /connective tissues of the body. By working in-between the muscles, relief is obtained. Client participation is required to contract and relax muscles in order to work this layer, minimal lotion is used, and this is best performed with multiple session spaced 1-3 weeks apart. **Fascia is a thin and durable layer that surrounds and supports the majority of structures in the body. Fascia lies between the muscles, bones, and around organs often in a continuous sheet. As the fascia is released, it allows the surrounding structures to move more efficiently and return to their optimal position. Swedish Massage
What we typically think of as a massage with oils or lotions and long flowing strokes to increase relaxation and wipe away the days, months, and years of stresses. Great if you have general soreness, have been in an accident, or you need to take a mental vacation! Robin’s treatment includes 2-4 hot stones at no extra cost. After a Swedish relaxation massage you will feel like a new person. Structural Integration
Structural Integration (SI) works with patterns in your whole body so that you have an easier time breathing, moving, and participating in your life. SI seeks to balance the fascia (the connective tissue web that runs throughout your body) so that it is freed in areas of restriction and stabilized in areas of weakness. Being in your body then feels more harmonious. Physical benefits of SI often include reduced pain, a more lifted, effortless posture, and increased range of motion. It can enhance your understanding of your body and its patterns. Because we are working with fascia, changes initiated in SI work often continue to resonate for months. Thus, it is most useful to receive a series of sessions, and then take time to experience and “live into” the changes. Hot Stones
The basalt stones add a warming and relaxing sensation to your massage that cannot be beat except with heat! Using the heat to penetrate muscles, they relax quickly and allow for deeper and more affective work on muscles. Oils are required for a hot stone massage. Often, a few are used during a regular massage appointment in specific areas, for a full body hot stone massage $20 is added per hour. |
Deep Tissue
Deep tissue focuses on the deeper layers of muscle and tissue not always effected by Swedish massage. By gently moving joints and focusing on specific areas of the body that are sore, immobile, or painful, I can effectively release tension, scar tissue, and get joints moving again. Not to forget eliminating those pesky balls of tension residing in your shoulders and neck (to name the most common areas). Deep Tissue is a very effective technique for rotator problems of the hip and shoulder and those hard to reach areas sheltered by superficial muscles. Not necessarily a painful massage! Sports Massage
Depending on your athletic abilities (or lack of) sports massage is generally a more vigorous massage focusing on increasing circulation. Stretching, kneading, and muscle engagement keeps you moving like the pros. Great for pre-sports events to get oxygen to your muscles, as sports recovery, or in the middle of training to maintain your overall health and balance. Oils are generally not used and shorts/undergarments are recommended Massage combo with Chiropractic visit
Did you know that adding massage to your chiropractic visit helps you keep and hold proper movement patterns and posture! Relaxing and restoring the muscles that are holding onto those bones. Get a massage before or after your chiropractic visit to improve your well being, mental stress, and help your body maintain proper posture. Many insurance companies will pay for massage. Gua Sha
Gua Sha is a method of Chinese medicine which the area treated is scraped quickly with a rounded tool. This is an intense treatment performed for a max of 5 mins per area, it provides fast fascial relief, pain relief, and scar tissue treatment. Gua Sha can be utilized in conjunction with any other type of massage. |
